How does auditing work?

Routinely, a sample of the participating suppliers will be identified as those requiring an onsite audit. The sample will be drawn from those suppliers presenting the highest risk against predetermined criteria, an example showing how we decide this is shown below:

Risk Category by Operation Type (what do you do)

High

Medium

Low

Specific Risks
(how good are you at it)

HACCP issues

No specific issues

There is no additional cost for suppliers selected for audit

What if I’m not audited in a particular year ?

Any supplier that has not been subject to onsite audit in any particular year will be required to complete a declaration that no material changes or occurrences to the business  A number of key points such as changes to the business and its products, recalls, enforcement challenges etc are included.

However SOFHT reserves the right to immediately withdraw a certificate if anomalies are found between submissions and what is in fact the case.
