Welcome
Welcome to the new innovative SOFHTe certification scheme. Robust enough to ensure products are legal and safe but simple and cost effective for users

3 steps to certification: 1. Apply 2. Complete Questionnaire 3. Submit for review

Are you a small or medium sized manufacturer and want everyone to know how much care you take to produce good food?

Do you want to demonstrate compliance of food safety requirements to competent authorities and retailers but find ‘conventional’ food safety schemes too ‘heavy-duty’ and time consuming?

With increasing demand for locally sourced products and interest from its members the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology (SOFHT) has established SOFHTe Certification, an innovative web based approach to managing food safety issues within small and local suppliers.

John Clague, Technical Manager Compliance Waitrose

"Small and medium size businesses form a major part of the food industry supply chain, and the SOFHT Scheme will enable them to have access to a flexible and cost effective means of demonstrating their food safety measures."

Alan Lacey
"EHDA would like to see small businesses do not suffer from too much burden and high cost placed upon them by certification schemes. What is important is that the small businesses have a well crafted and practical certification scheme, low cost, such as the SOFHTe Certification Scheme. A certification scheme that is easy to comply with, provides complete assurance of Food health and hygiene safety, thereby adding value and supporting small, local food producers."

Mohammad Nazir
- Chairman European Halal Development Agency (EHDA)

"The SOFHTe certification scheme allows buyers and technologists to source products from smaller, local producers who may not have BRC accreditation, without compromising food safety. Musgrave GB would recognise the SOFHTe certification scheme as part of their conditions of supply."

Annie Cleary
- Musgrave Retail Partners GB

"Smaller food businesses are a significant part of an EHO's responsibilities, and the SOFHT Scheme will provide an excellent tool for them to use and demonstrate the food safety measures they have in place"

Paul Turner
- Principal EHO
